Best way to get started with bamboo

I drove down to pick it up, it's been lurking in it's tube since then. Stuck a line on a reel, made sure it balanced and then its been waiting since then.

Hopefully this weekend I'll get out. This is not a good week. 17 years ago I had all the time in the world, this year I'm running around trying to get the fancy car inspected so I can drive one of them to his first prom.

Looks like Bamboozle answered your spinning rod questions, you already learned from the thread that lightweight bamboo rods come with a premium. Good luck!
It's labeled a Horrock-Ibbotson Tonka Prince, but it's not the catalogue model which is a 7' rod. This is a 7'6" rod, which was the Princess.

Of course, in today's day and age we don't ask about genders so I'm just referring to it as my H-I Non-Binary.

Unlike my 9' SB 359 or 8' Hardy Fairy, it's light in the hand and quite fast. It was also the cheapest thing on the menu and in *fantastic* shape except I hate the cheap plastic reel seat.
I have a Princess, got at an auction for $40.00. One of my favorite dry fly rods.
