Hey guys, I've been lurking the forums for a little while and decided to finally join. I'm from philadelphia and mostly fish valley creek since there isn't really good trout fishing in a reasonable distance.

The advice I'm seeking is fly line for my T&T zone 10'2" 3 wt. I wanted to give the euro rig a chance but would like to be able to throw some dries and maybe a yarn indicator when need be. Any advice on a setup would be much appreciated. I intend on using this setup primarily for tight lining.

I would look at the troutbitten site and follow his recommendations for a euro setup. Basically use a standard weight forward fly line and then attach a long euro leader. That way you can remove the euro leader and add a normal leader for fishing dries, streamers, etc.

Excellent advice. I don’t think the standard Euro fly line would give you what you’re looking for.

Set up an 8-9' 5-wt with a DT or WF floating line and a 9-12' leader and just go all-in on dry flies. You'll enjoy yourself and have more than one rig to play with. 😉
I'll follow up by recommending the addition of a shorter (6-7') 2-3 weight rod for small streams. Come on. Get that collection started.

I actually have an Orvis helios 3D in 9' 5wt, and a Superfine glass in 7'6" 4wt. I love the superfine glass. Was catching some wild browns on it with dries on Father's Day. I'm spending way too much on gear haha.
