I don't know if there is a previous thread about this book published in 1999 by the late Mike Sajna, but I just re-read my copy. It is a wonderful book that includes fly-fishing, a lot of history about Pennsylvania fly-fishing, and some subtle doses of philosophy. If you are looking for a nice 192-page read, this might indeed be a book for you, though I imagine you'll have to search it out on the web. It really is worth seeking. Sadly, Sajna, who also authored the "Pennsylvania Trout and Salmon Fishing Guide," died at the age of 49. Had he lived, he might have written a nice number of books.

Anyhow, I recommend this to you at the highest rating.

These are well known waters to the SWPA area angler. Good stories which I enjoyed. Serves as a reminder, we are all very mortal, and that I believe he wrote the book for his family and kids to remember him by.

Thank you for mentioning that book. I wasn’t familiar with Sajna or his books, so I just looked up information about him and read his obituary.

I also read that he wrote a book about the Allegheny River watershed. Having been raised close to that river in Northwest PA, canoed and fished it, and worked for a time for the US Forest Service as a surveyor when the Kinzua Dam was being built on it, I think I’ll try to find a copy of that book as well.

After reading it, I just might have a hankering to find a canoe and go back there, Spend Some Days on (That) Water, something I haven’t done in many years.

Thanks for the info.
I like his writings.
I Have the other two books mentioned, but not familiar with the one you speak of.
Also wasn’t aware he passed so young.

Snagged a copy. Thank you rrt.
