Fly Fishing Library

Here are a few of the ones I have. Most, but not all sit above my fly tying desk. There are a few in various places in my house that I am actively reading. The George Daniels book Strip Set is one. I also have Rare and Unusual Fly Tying Materials Vol 1 (still looking for Vol 2) The one I am holding is one of my favorite, even though I do not tie classic flies much. I was taught how to tie by a neighbor when I was a kid. He left me some books when he passed, and Forgotten Flies was among them.

I do a lot of reading, and I am fortunate that the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh has a pretty nice collection thanks to the PWWTU and others. It is worth checking out the library before buying. A couple on the shelf are from the library and are in the reading queue...

Edited to add a couple that were not pictured but worth mentioning: Modern Streamers for Trophy Trout by Linesman and Galloup and Guide Flies by Klausmeyer.
I was looking at Forgotten Flies on eBay literally 3 days ago. It seems to be super rare. Someday in the future maybe I will one day have one, not for many years though!!

I literally have two or three boxes full of fly fishing books I don't use anymore. Id love to give them to you but your in Moosic and I'm in Lancaster.
Mailing them would be way too expensive.

If you are ever down this way....
If I am ever in Lancaster I will let you know! Maybe we can even go fish as I have never fished down there.

I know the exact river you are talking about, and have never once caught a trout on it hahaha
I find that amazing honestly.
It can be fickle but it has a lot of trout in it and some that rival the Delaware.

I should inventory what books I got I have a lot.

The books at the bottom are mostly my wifes.

I'm surprised I haven't seen anybody with a copy of McClane's Standard Fishing Encylopedia. I had one way back in the 70's, when I became a member of the Outdoor Life Book Club. It has since gotten lost in time.
