I have 2 of these stands to hold spools of thread, wire, tinsel, etc. for fly tying that I’d like to sell for $20.00 each. They are very nicely made and in excellent condition, and as you can see they will hold a LOT of spools of thread.

They are each approx. 22”x 18” and can easily be put on the floor as I have shown, or on a desk, table, etc., or they can be permanently mounted on the wall using the pre drilled holes. (I believe they were originally designed to be placed vertically, rather than horizontally as I have used them, and are 2 3/8” on one side, and narrow to 1 1/4” on the other side - see picture.)

These can be picked up in the Lancaster area, or I will ship them for the actual shipping cost (assuming I can find something to ship them in.)

Please send me a private message here to arrange the purchase or with any questions.

Thanks, John

I’ve put a few more spools of thread on one of these holders since I posted these 2 holders for sale back in mid-April, and I have it sitting against the wall which is beside my tying desk and chair. I find it’s really convenient to use sitting there, where I can just reach over from my chair and take a spool of thread off, or place one on it. Probably easier than using one of several other spool holders that I have.

I may decide to keep 1 of these 2 spool holders that I have if no one here wants them, but in case somebody local to me near Lancaster, PA, would like one or both of them I’ll sell them for $10 each. (I think they’re too big and would too burdensome to ship.)

Looks like you could use a few more spools of thread. 😉

I do have more on and in my desk and in my closet, but I really DO need more sizes or colors that I don’t have. You can’t tie every fly with just 8/0 black thread. 😃 Not all of those are thread though. Some are tinsel, wire, floss, and lead.

I know the feeling...

Because I am a fan of long gone Gudebrod fly tying thread, I bough a TON in 3/0 - 10/0 in many colors from their main distributor just before Gudebrod went bankrupt.

I ain't counting, but all of the holders John pictured wouldn't suffice for my Gudebrod stash and I'd still need holders for wire, tinsel, floss, D-Rib, Mylar, lead, other spooled stuff & Pearsall's. 😉

Nice holders BTW!!
