Hi Y'all!

As I have said previously I have been on an almost 20 year hiatus from fly fishing. I had an old pair of chest waders that I used which have since disappeared(I have a feeling my brother knows where they are[his garage hint hint]). So I found a pair of my dad's old waders that he took with him on a trip to Alaska at least 12 years ago and I went out and bought a pair of Korkers Darkhorse BOA wading boots. My question is this since it is my first experience ever with wading boots is there anything that I need to do(other than try them on and make sure they fit which they do) prior to using them on a fishing trip? Any advice and information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,

Matt

Maybe too late now for you
But I buy wading boots 1 size larger than my normal shoe size, which is 11
Size 12 wading boots are often a little large sometimes at first for me, but they tend to shrink after using them awhile.
And also allow more room for heavy socks when fishing in cold water

@dryflyguy I knew to buy my boots one size bigger and have already done that. I actually had to buy them 2 sizes bigger because of how wide my feet are. I normally wear a 10.5 Extra Wide when I can find them and if I can't I have to go up to an 11 so I bought a 12 in my wading boots and they fit perfectly.

Thanks,

Matt

I have the same dimension feet as you do. I was in an Orvis store and they had a pair of size 13 on the clearance shelf. I didn't think it was worth trying them on in the store so I brought them and tried them on with full gear and normally thick socks. oila! Since then I've bought other brands and size 13 is the way to go for me. The booties on my stocking foot waders are fairly thick(?)…………
My humble advice: replicate your dress with the store display samples. The sales person will think your buying a complete "wader-drobe"
