Recent Rain

Its a watch, but the potential exists for some serious rain this afternoon. Hopefully, the slow moving storms or isolated very strong storms do not develop as we do not need flooding. It would also be nice to fish some of the cicada water that is still virtually blown out.

If it hits, be safe out there

2 years ago I spent the whole time out here living in a pop up camper while setting up and starting the renovation of my property. I don't think I could do it this time given all the rain..

I picked a great time to camp at Poe Paddy and fish Penns this coming Monday. 97 degrees, 70+ degree water (maybe?), AND 1,000 CFS!
The water will not be warm. It won't be anywhere even close to the acceptable cutoff limit for ethical trout fishing. I bet Penns is currently in the 50's.

Yesterday, I was on my jon boat in the main stem of the Juniata, and my fish finder measured a water temp of 63°. For the main stem of the Juniata, that's mind boggling for late June.

Your water temp will be good. Everything else, probably not.

We have a site for Tuesday-Thursday. Interesting to see how this plays out.

Hit a local tailwater this afternoon that I fish often. Was high, dirty, and difficult. Managed one small brown on a green weenie in about an hour and twenty minutes of fishing.

Tried a small Wooly Bugger to no avail.
