Hey folks. With the impending heat wave, I was wondering what everyone’s experience is with local tailwaters like the Tully? Does it remain at all fishable in the dead of summer? I’d imagine midday it probably gets too hot, but are the mornings and evenings still generally okay to fish?

It may be too warm from the get-go. The lake has filled in, and I was told quite a while ago that the thermocline is at a level where there is less coldwater storage than in the 1980s and 1990s. Doesn't the USGS gauge have a temp reading?
It sure does but it looks like it’s been busted for a few days. However, looking at the data from this time last year I’d say you’re definitely correct. Bummer.
