What are some easy (beginners) PA smallmouth patterns?

I am looking to build a small bass box and have never tied bass patterns before. I am only using a 9 foot 5 weight and am not ready to commit to a larger fly rod. If I like bass fishing maybe I will get a bigger rod. So, no articulated streamer suggestions or large patterns for now.

Basically I would like to tie some dries, nymphs/wets, and small streamers.

If anyone can recall how they started tying bass flies and have suggestions or videos, I would greatly appreciate it. Summer will be here soon and I'd like to catch a smallmouth on a fly rod. I will only be fishing warm water rivers that hold bass like the Susquehanna and Schuylkill. No still water lakes near where I live plus I don't have a boat anyway.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Gurglers are a pretty easy to tie. Here is one that I posted on the “what are you tying today” thread in the Fly Tying forum a week or so ago. You can use whatever you have on hand for the tail, any kind of chenille or hackle for the underbody and some different colored 2mm craft foam from a craft store for the over body. Tie them in any color scheme that you want to. White, tan, yellow and chartruese are some of my favorites. They are a lot of fun to fish if there is a surface bite happening.
